1.1. Types of heat exchangers
PLATES
A plate heat exchanger consists of a series of sheet metal in an armed mode to frame and connected between the first and second fluid flow plate, between the second and the third one, and so on. These plates are separated by joints, fixed to a steel casing.
The circulation of these fluids can have different configurations, parallel and counter.
In the figure below there are different types of plates that can be found in a heat exchanger plates. Each board has different fluid conduits that lead to turbulence.
If the cold fluid flows through the front plate, the hot fluid does to the back.
