4. GENERAL METHODS OF CALCULATION OF HEAT EXCHANGERS
4.2. Method ε-NTU
4.2.3. Example 2
Select the type of heat exchanger shell and tube of flow combined most appropriate for heat 40,000 kg/h of mineral oil with heat capacity 2 KJ / KgK from 303 K to 343 K, with 20,000 kg / h of water has a Cp of 4.18 KJ / KgK; the water enters at 363 K and flows through the shell.Calculate:
a) The value of the heat transferred (q).
b) The value of ε and Z.
c) Find the values of NTU and discuss which equipment is most appropriate.
